2 arrested after knifepoint robbery at Bishop's Falls convenience store

Bulldozer fire near Bauline Line considered suspicious

Two Grand Falls-Windsor teenagers have been charged in relation to an armed robbery in Bishop's Falls Tuesday evening.

The RCMP said officers responded to a convenience store in the community at 10 p.m., after reports that a man armed with a knife walked in with his face partially covered and demanded cash from the clerk.

Nobody was injured, but he did get away with $550 in cash.

Police said they tracked down a vehicle, and when they stopped it found out the name of the suspected robber. Shortly after, both the 18-year-old and the driver of the vehicle – who is also 18 – were both arrested.

Officers recovered $475 of the stolen cash, and both men have been charged with robbery and other offences. They are set to appear in court Wednesday afternoon.
