Three construction workers were taken to hospital with serious injuries after two separate incidents at construction sites in Ottawa on Tuesday morning.

The first incident happened at 99 Bank St., between Queen and Albert streets, just before 5 a.m., paramedics said in a media release.

Two men in their 20s who work at the site were treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital in serious but stable condition. One of the men was suffering from head and neck injuries while the other was suffering from pelvic and lower body injuries.

Another worker, also in his 20s, was assessed at the scene but wasn't treated.

The second incident happened in Kanata at a convenience store construction site near Teron Road and Campeau Drive just after 10 a.m., paramedics said.

A 65-year-old man working at the site suffered traumatic head injuries and was taken to hospital, where he was listed in serious condition.

The Ministry of Labour is investigating both cases with the help of Ottawa police.
