2 seniors die, 2 other adults injured in southwest Calgary crash

Two seniors are dead and two other adults have been seriously injured after a crash in southwest Calgary on Monday evening.

Police and EMS responded to the crash on Highway 22X near James Mckevitt Road S.W. at 6:30 p.m. The intersection is currently under construction.

EMS said the crash involved a pickup truck and a car.

The female driver of the car, in her 30s, was flown to Foothills hospital by STARS air ambulance in serious, potentially life-threatening condition.

The two passengers of the car, both seniors, were killed.

The male driver of the truck, in his 30s or 40s, is in serious but stable condition and was taken by ground ambulance to Foothills Medical Centre.

Roads in the area were closed while the police traffic unit investigated.
