2 Highway 101 vehicle collisions block traffic through Pismo Beach

Two vehicle collisions are blocking traffic on Highway 101 in Pismo Beach in San Luis Obispo County.

The first collision occurred at about 9:50 a.m. on northbound Highway 101 near the Price Street exit, according to CHP’s traffic incident website. The CHP responded to the scene of the crash, and no one was injured, according to emergency scanner traffic.

The incident originally caused a small amount of traffic, but has since been cleared.

The second crash occurred at about 10 a.m. slightly south of the first. The vehicles collided near the Shell Beach Road exit on northbound Highway 101, according to the CHP website.

One person received a minor injury in the collision, and an ambulance responded to the scene of the crash, according to emergency scanner traffic.

Traffic is backed up on northbound Highway 101 from Foothill Road to James Way, according to Caltrans QuickMap. Moderate and heavy traffic jams were reported in that area as of Wednesday at 10:25 a.m.

CHP told The Tribune it did not yet have information about what caused the collisions Wednesday morning.
