Double shooting downtown leaves 2 men with gunshot wounds

Gunfire broke out just after midnight Friday on King Street just west of Dufferin, leaving two men injured.

Toronto police say multiple shots were fired outside the Tasty restaurant at 1222 King St. W.

Police say a 22-year-old man was shot in the arm. Another victim fled the area and was later found with a gunshot wound to the stomach. Both victims were rushed to hospital.

Their injuries are non life-threatening and both have been released from hospital, according to police.

Toronto paramedics say the victims were picked up about a block apart from each other near the scene of the shooting.

According to police, three possible suspects were seen running from the area but they do not have a description at this time.

K9 and Emergency Task Force officers responded to the shooting and police will be canvassing the area for witnesses and video surveillance today.

Both men attended the police station to be interviewed. One of the victims is known to police.
