2-year-old killed by off road vehicle along SC roadway. Here’s what we know about death

A 2-year-old was killed Saturday evening after being run over by an off-road vehicle the child was riding in.

The child was one of four people - two adults and another 2-year-old - who were in a Can-Am Utility vehicle on Bay View Drive in the Green Sea area, according to Master Trooper Brandon Bolt with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The vehicle was traveling along Bay View near Fairview Highway about 5:18 p.m. when the child fell off the vehicle and then was hit by it, Bolt said in an email.

The child died at the scene. The name of the child has not been released.
