2 critically injured in Airport Parkway crash

Three people were taken to hospital — two in critical condition and one in serious condition — after a two-vehicle crash on the Airport Parkway Wednesday morning.

It happened on the parkway south of Walkley Road at about 9 a.m.

The driver of one of the vehicles was trapped, but firefighters managed to get the driver out using spreaders and cutters.

Paramedics treated three patients:

- A woman in her 20s suffered a head injury and multiple fractures, and was listed in critical condition.

- A 28-year-old man suffered a head injury, and was also listed in critical condition.

- A 55-year-old man suffered abdominal and extremity injuries, and was listed in serious but stable condition.

Ottawa police are investigating.

The Parkway was closed between Brookfield and Hunt Club Roads after the crash. It opened again around 2:15 p.m.
