Man charged after 2 stabbed in Tulita, N.W.T.

A man from Tulita, N.W.T., has been charged in relation to a double-stabbing in the community Sunday night.

Kevin Kenny, 19, faces two charges of aggravated assault related to the incident. He will remain in custody. He is scheduled to appear in court April 25.

Police say at around 11:30 p.m. a man forced his way into a home and stabbed a woman twice. He then forced his way into another room, stabbed a man several times, then fled.

After an extensive search, police found the suspect mid-morning Monday at a cabin across the Mackenzie River from the community.

Both victims were medevaced to Yellowknife. They are both in stable condition in hospital.

RCMP are looking for any information on the circumstances which led to the stabbings.
