2 Windsor men charged with drug trafficking

Two Windsor men have been charged with drug trafficking after police found more than 3.5 kilograms of marijuana inside a Rivard Avenue residence.

Windsor police say they arrested a man on an ebike on Wednesday evening, shortly before they executed a search warrant at a house in the 2500 block of Rivard Avenue.

Police found the marijuana in the residence, along with 21.7 grams of methamphetamine.

The drugs, in total, had a street value of more than $39,000, according to police.

Police say they also seized cash from the man who had been stopped on the ebike.

Police say there is no connection between the activities last night and a fire that broke out an apartment on a nearby stretch of Rivard Avenue on the same day.

A 42-year-old Windsor man faces two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, while a 41-year-old Windsor man faces one count of the same charge.

The charges have not been proven in court.
