Dalton W. Samson, 25, of College Place, was heading west on Interstate 182 near George Washington Way about 9 a.m., when traffic started slowing down in front of him, the Washington State Patrol said in a traffic memo.
His Toyota Yaris hit the back of a Audi Q5.
Two passengers in the Yaris, Alexis D. Arave, 22, and Linda L. Logston, 68, both of Kennewick, were taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland with unknown injuries. Their current condition was not immediately available.
Samson and the driver of the Audi, Gregorio M. Garcia, 62, of Pasco, were not hurt.
Scanner reports said there was a second crash in the area, as well. No one was reported injured in that collision.
