Is the Vitapod drink system too good to be true?
The $200 machine claims it can turn plain, old, everyday water into tastier, healthier drinks. It’s basically like a Keurig for water — with flavors ranging from cotton candy to raspberry hibiscus to peach iced tea.

The process is simple. You load the machine up with water, insert a pod and watch an all-new drink come out into your glass.
Vitapod’s low-calorie drinks feature all-natural ingredients — and on top of that, they purport to be “healthier” than regular water. They come in flavors loaded with electrolytes, caffeine, amino acid, collagen, vitamin A, vitamin E and more.
It sounds like a dream come true: Water that actually tastes good and is better for you? In fact, it sounded so good that we had to try it ourselves.
So, In The Know producer Poppy Shen ordered a Vitapod drink system and tested it out. To see how it went, watch the video above or keep reading below.

Is the Vitapod drink system the ultimate hydration gadget?
After making several drinks with the Vitapod, Poppy decided to rate it on three factors. With each, Poppy compared the machine to her current wellness routine to see which method is really better.
Health benefits: This all depends on which pods you use. For example, Vitapod offers flavors focused on hydration and nutrition (with vitamins A, C, D, E as well as calcium and magnesium) and energy (with caffeine and zero added sugar). So, it all depends on what you need from it. Overall, though, there’s plenty to like here.
Price: This machine isn’t cheap. Still, when Poppy compared its cost to her current wellness routine — featuring smoothies, vitamin drinks, workout classes and more — she realized she actually spent more than $200 on wellness products each month. The good news is that you only have to buy the machine once. After that, it’s just about getting new drink pods, which cost somewhere between $1 and $1.50 per drink.
Taste: Flavor-wise, Poppy found the taste to be a major upgrade to water. And there are plenty of options to choose from — so everyone can find something they like.
Overall, this gadget is a little pricey, and it’s not a replacement for a full-on wellness routine. However, it does make water taste better — and it helps you get key nutrients in the process. For anyone who hates drinking plain water, this is a great alternative.
