2016 Ottawa Book Awards winners announced

Authors Nadine McInnis and Tim Cook captured the top prizes for English fiction and non-fiction Wednesday night at the Ottawa Book Awards, while their French language counterparts Pierre-Luc Landry and Patricia Smart were awarded the Prix du livre d'Ottawa.

The awards recognize English and French books published in the previous year. All shortlisted finalists received $1,000 and each winner received a prize of $7,500.

English fiction: Nadine McInnis, Delirium for Solo Harp

English non-fiction: Tim Cook, Fight to the Finish: Canadians in the Second World War, 1944-45

French fiction: Pierre-Luc Landry, Les corps extraterrestres

French non-fiction: Patricia Smart, De Marie de l'Incarnation à Nelly Arcan
