"If the Grammys did their job, he's getting that award," Reina from Sudbury, Ont., says at the Grammys
In an unexpected turn of events for Canadians, the Grammy Awards gave a shout out to Sudbury, Ont., with a very special great grandmother who is a massive Harry Styles fan.
As part of the Grammys ceremony at the Crypto.com Arena on Sunday night, fans of each of the nominees for Album of the Year sat around a table to talk about their favourite artists.
Among them was Reina from the northern Ontario city.
"Harry's House by Harry Styles in the album of the year," she says.
In a pre-recorded video, Reina's granddaughter says the 78-year old is Styles' "number one fan," and they flew to Los Angeles together to see him in concert, both dresses in colourful boas and sunglasses.
"Aside form being good looking, .... I love everything about him," Reina said. "I love his outlook, his songs and with Harry he has that thing that draws people to him."
"If the Grammys did their job, he's getting that award."
The group of fans also got the attend the ceremony on Sunday. After Styles won the Best Pop Vocal Album award, Reina told host Trevor Noah she's "more than excited."
"I've been crying," Reina said live on TV.
At the end of the night, Reina got to present Styles with his award for Album of the Year, even getting a hug from her favourite artist.
Several people have taken to social media to celebrate the granny from Sudbury.
