A second person has been charged in connection with a double homicide in Fort Erie.

The arrest comes after police announced late last week that a Scarborough man faces two counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of Juliana Pannunzio, 20, and Christine Crooks, 18.

On Monday police announced a 29-year-old Scarborough woman has also been arrested. She's charged with accessory after the fact to murder and obstruction of justice.

The woman is being held in custody with a court appearance scheduled for Tuesday.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.

The charges stem from Jan. 19, when police were called to a Fort Erie home around 4:17 a.m. following reports shots had been fired.

Officers arrived and discovered the women's bodies in the residence with "obvious signs of trauma."

Pannunzio and Crooks died at the scene from gunshot wounds, police said.

A group of people who weren't from the Niagara Region were staying at a short-term rental accommodation, according to investigators.

The man charged in the case is 22-year-old Christopher Lucas. Investigators say he is a rapper who also goes by the name El Plaga.

Police had offered a reward of up to $100,000 for information that would help solve the killing.
