2nd-degree murder charges laid in St-Georges double shooting

A 26-year-old man has been charged in connection to a double shooting that left two men dead in St-Georges, Man.

Jason Andrew Bruyere is charged with two counts of second-degree murder.

Jody Brown, 43, and Steven Chevrefils, 35, were found dead on Feb. 28 inside the St-Georges home where they lived together.

RCMP have said they were victims of a "targeted shooting."

Bruyere, who is from Fort Alexander,  about 14 kilometres from St-Georges, was arrested March 2.

He is also charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, using a firearm to commit an offence, careless use of a firearm, discharging a firearm, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

St-Georges is located 100 kilometres northeast of Winnipeg, near Pine Falls-Powerview, Man.

Fort Alexander is on the opposite side of Powerview-Pine Falls, about 14 kilometres from St-Georges.
