3 collisions lead to arrests of 3 impaired drivers

RCMP: 89-year-old assaulted, robbed in his home, 2 charged

Three female drivers were arrested for impaired driving after being involved in three separate collisions in Moncton and Riverview over a six hour period Friday night and into Saturday morning.

Sgt. Matthew Roy of the Codiac RCMP says the collisions happened between 9 p.m. and 3 a.m. Two involved collisions with other vehicles, one moving and one parked. A pedestrian was hit at a crosswalk in the early morning incident.

"The first one was a collision at the intersection of Gunningsville and Assomption, second one was a collision on Albert Street with a parked car and the third was a collision with a pedestrian on St. George at the corner of Church [Street]."

While Roy said no one was seriously injured in any of the incidents, the pedestrian was treated for minor injuries.

He added all three drivers were arrested, taken into custody and failed their breathalyzer exams. All were released with notices to appear in court.
