Three people have been taken to hospital after fire tore through a home in Mississauga Monday afternoon, paramedics say.
All three patients are in stable condition, with two being treated for smoke inhalation and a third for a lower body injury, according to a spokesperson for Peel Paramedics.
Const. Mark Fischer of Peel Regional Police said that he did not believe anyone was inside the home on Terragar Boulevard when emergency crews arrived. He could not confirm, however, whether those injured were firefighters.
Randy Tiffin, a spokesman for Mississauga fire services would also not say whether any fire fighters were injured in the blaze.
The one-alarm fire was reported at 2:33 p.m. and was knocked down within an hour. Its cause has not yet been determined, both police and fire officials say.
