Student among 3 teens injured in stabbing near Toronto school

Toronto police seek 2 male suspects on motorcycle after stabbing injures 3 teens

Police are searching for two suspects in connection with a triple stabbing in Scarborough Friday afternoon that sent a teen to hospital in life-threatening condition.

Paramedics were called to the scene in the Lawrence Avenue East and Rushley Drive area around 3:30 p.m., where they say they located a total of three victims, two in serious condition. Police earlier said four victims were located.

A spokesperson for the Toronto District School Board confirmed one of those injured was a 17-year-old male student at David and Mary Thomson Collegiate Institute. There's no word yet on the extent of the student's injuries.

"It would appear to have happened at a nearby plaza shortly after school ended," Ryan Bird told CBC Toronto.

Bird said the student's parents have been notified.

Police say one of the victims had run into the school to find safety, after which the school was placed under a hold-and-secure for about an hour.

On Friday night, officers remained on scene canvassing the area for witnesses.
