Three women are dead after a violent collision outside Quebec City Monday evening.
Police say around 6:30 p.m., a car was travelling westbound, down a hill on Highway 360 in the municipality of Beaupré when the driver lost control.
The car collided with another vehicle in the oncoming lane. A third car travelling westbound was also involved in the crash.
Emergency crews had to use the Jaws of Life at the scene, according to Sûreté du Québec Sgt. Claude Denis.
The three victims, aged 19, 25 and 52, were in the first car. They are all from the Beaupré area, about 40 kilometres northeast of Quebec City.
They were brought to hospital, where they were pronounced dead, Denis said. It's not yet known if they are related.
The driver of the second car, a man, was badly injured, but is expected to survive.
The male driver of the third car was not hurt.
SQ collision squad investigators are looking into the crash.
