"I really love to challenge the ideal of what my box looks like," says New York-based tattoo artist and painter, Charity 'Cake' Hamidullah, of her overall ink style. "Sometimes I enjoy making Neo-traditional art with bold-lines and solid color, but then I might focus on black and gray ornamental pieces or get illustrative and switch it up to abstract watercolor-inspired designs. Despite the titles of style which define me, my main intentions are to create pieces that amaze you not only up close, but from further away. For this particular piece, Hamidullah says she chose to draw the image directly on the skin rather than using a stencil first. "When drawing on skin, I feel more freedom to connect with the client as I draw to truly fit the natural shape of their body," she explains.
