Up to 35 mm of rainfall expected in Toronto by Thursday evening

You can ditch the umbrella pretty soon, but get ready to bundle up again Friday morning.

According to Environment Canada, between 20-35 mm of rainfall is expected in Toronto until late Thursday evening with temperature around 3 C, though it will feel more like -3.

The rain is then expected to change to light snow overnight, which will taper off by early Friday morning. Temperatures will be around 0 C early Friday, though it will feel like -7.

Some strong northwesterly wind gusts, up to 70 km/h, are also expected late Thursday and early Friday.

Environment Canada has warned that some flooding is possible, especially in the city's low-lying areas, and that visibility may be poor for those driving.

City crews say they will be draining catch basins and keeping an eye on flood-prone areas, like the Beach and parts of North York and Etobicoke.

Sunny weekend

Temperatures climb up and the sun makes a dramatic comeback just in time for the weekend.

Saturday will be sunny with a high of 12 C and a low of 4 C. The temperature will dip to 0 C again overnight and into Sunday.

That's when you can expect a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 14 C.
