Calgary police say they have charged a third man following the death of a 53-year-old man in February in the city's southeast.

Police say a Canada-wide warrant was issued Monday for Calgarian Robert Wayne Sims, 30, for first-degree murder.

On Wednesday, Sims was arrested in Radium Hot Springs, B.C. He remains in custody, Calgary police say.

Chad Kowalchuk was found dead after firefighters responded to a house fire in the southeast community of Douglasdale on Feb. 18. The discovery sparked what police called a complex investigation.

Police have previously arrested two other men.

Ronald Leon Abraham, 41, and Justin Angus Boucher, 30, both of Calgary, were charged with first-degree murder. Boucher also faces arson charges.

CBC News has reported that investigators believe the fire didn't start the same day Kowalchuk was killed.

Staff Sgt. Sean Gregson said police are working to determine the relationship between Kowalchuk and the accused men. The fire has complicated the investigation, he said.
