A third suspect is now in custody charged with murder in connection with the city's first homicide this year.

Dillon Singler appeared in provincial court Thursday. He's charged with first-degree murder in the death of Lee Perkins, whose body was found in a home in the Pacific Heights neighbourhood in February.

Singler is also charged with aggravated assault. He is scheduled to return to court on Sept. 4.

The province's Serious Incident Response Team is involved in the investigation because Saskatoon police shot one of the suspects.

The shooting happened while the tactical unit was executing a search warrant on a house on Lisgar Avenue on Feb. 3, 2024. Edin Vrazalica was wounded by officers, and then later charged with first-degree murder.

While searching the home, police found Perkins's body.

According to court documents, Vrazalica is also charged with offering an indignity to Perkins's remains "by mutilating and contorting his body to fit into a Rubbermaid tote for disposal."

Chantal Lee McLaren is also charged with first-degree murder in the case.
