5 fun things to do in Nova Scotia this long weekend
Feeling a little Spring-feverish? You’re not the only one. Time to get out of the house and see what Nova Scotia has to offer in April.
The Halifax Mooseheads continue their quest for the Memorial Cup this holiday weekend. The Herd takes on Val D’Or in the Q-League semi-finals at the Halifax Metro Centre. Game one is Friday at 7 p.m. Game two goes Saturday at 7 p.m.
Get your Blues fix Saturday night in Fairview. Freeman’s Little New York is hosting a Blues Jam starting at 9 p.m. You’re encouraged to bring along an instrument, or come ready to sing and dance. There’s no charge to get in.
You can get up close and personal with some giant bugs this weekend at the Museum of Natural History at their exhibit “BUGS: Outside the Box.” You’ll find sculptures of insects, enlarged to three and four metres tall, all designed to showcase the natural — and often hidden — beauty of bugs.
Want something different for breakfast on Saturday? Head to the Annapolis Valley, where there are at least four community breakfasts on the board. They’re serving up great food at the following places:

This is prime time for the maple syrup masters at Sugar Moon Farm in Earltown. They’re open all weekend. Take a tour of the sugar camp, or hike through the woods to see the maple trees being tapped. Both options are free. There’s also a restaurant on site. Bring warm clothes and your sweet tooth.
