5 hospitalized after shooting next to Florida Memorial’s campus in Miami Gardens: cops

A quarrel between two people turned into a shooting that left five victims hospitalized Saturday night at a fraternity’s activity center near Florida Memorial University, Miami Gardens police said.

One person has been detained.

The shooting happened around 11:28 p.m. at the Omega Activity Center, named for the Omega Psi Phi fraternity, 15600 NW 42nd Ave. A disagreement between two women moved to the parking lot, police said, where shots were fired.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue took five people to area hospitals. Their conditions are unknown.
