5 people injured in east Fort Worth collision involving police vehicle, authorities say
Five people were injured on Monday when a police vehicle collided with a civilian vehicle on on the Meadowbrook Drive bridge above East Loop 820 at the service road in east Fort Worth, authorities said.
One person was in critical condition and two suffered serious, but not life-threatening, injuries, according to a spokesperson for MedStar, the city’s emergency medical service authority. Two other people suffered minor injuries.
The officer’s injuries are not believed to be serious, a Fort Worth police spokesperson said. All of the injured people were taken to a hospital after the collision about 3 p.m.
Police did not immediately release information about the circumstances of the collision or say whether the police vehicle was marked or whether it was being driven in response to an emergency at the time of the collision.
