What: Edmonton's 40th annual Servus Heritage Festival – a three-day showcase for over eighty-five cultures where you can enjoy cultural food, performances and crafts.

When? Aug. 1 to 3

Music festival round-up

What: Music fans, especially those who like a little twang in their thang, have two major options this weekend.

- Blueberry Bluegrass and Country Music Festival drop by Heritage Park in Stony Plain for a weekend of acoustic music with performers such as Seldom Scene, Rhonda Vincent and The Del McCoury Band. Starts at noon Friday.

- Big Valley Jamboree in Camrose stars Reba McEntire, Brad Paisley and Lady Antebellum. Single day passes are still available. Mainstage starts Friday at 1 p.m.

What: Get your sport fix out of the way early this long weekend

Take a ride into history

What: ​The Northern Alberta Railways (NAR) was the 'made in Alberta' railway playing a key role in the development of northern Alberta. Visit the Alberta Railway Museum to take a ride behind a 102-year-old steam engine and experience the fun of train travel!
