67-year-old Judith Stein headlines Vancouver burlesque festival

Judith Stein didn't expect to spend her senior years getting up on stage for a striptease, but on Friday, she found herself on-stage as a headliner for the Vancouver Burlesque Festival.

"I'm 67-years old. The last thing I thought I'd be doing is taking my clothes off, but if you want to fly me somewhere and pay me, I'm going," she told The Early Edition's Margaret Gallagher.

"The kids call me Momma Beaver."

Stein is no stranger to the stage — she started dancing when she was 24-years-old, but took a step back from the stage life at the age of 40.

"That's when burlesque was changing. The poles came in and lap dancing and I went 'enough,'" she said.

Five years ago, she was lured back into the life with invitations to perform, and has found she feels at home in the "new burlesque."

"There's skinny girls. There's fat girls. There's old girls like me and it's like 'Okay, just do it,'" she said.

"It's not necessarily the perfect body or the fabulous costume it's about the personality."
