67-year-old man dies after being hit by vehicle in Wolfville

A 67-year-old Wolfville man is dead after being hit by a vehicle on Friday evening.

Police say the collision happened at 7 p.m. on Willow Avenue in Wolfville. The man was walking by himself along a section of road where there isn't a curb or sidewalk.

"[He] was walking along the side of the road, is what it appears to be, and that's when he was struck by the vehicle," said Cpl. Dal Hutchinson of the Nova Scotia RCMP.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The road was closed for several hours.

The 89-year-old driver of the four-door Honda wasn't hurt. Hutchinson said charges haven't been laid because the RCMP investigation is still in its early stages.
