Celebrities predictably pulled out their chicest wrist candy for Paris Fashion Week. Singer Maluma donned a dazzling Audemars Piguet for the Dior show, actor Tom Blyth sported a classic Cartier Tank while viewing Loewe’s collection, and model Johannes Huebl rocked a striking Gerald Charles timepiece at the Giambattista Valli presentation.
The flexes in the French capital were somewhat expected, but others across the pond were quite surprising. Rapper Tyler, the Creator turned up to The Bear Season 3 premiere wearing a vintage Cartier Obus Quadrant, while tennis star Tommy Paul celebrated his Cinch Championships victory with a one-of-a-kind De Bethune DB28 on his wrist. Tyler, the Creator: Cartier Obus Quadrant
Tyler, the Creator wore a sizzling vintage Cartier to the premiere of the third season of The Bear on Tuesday. The 1980s Obus—which the rapper bought at an auction in Monaco in 2021—features an unusual square case adorned with oversized blue Roman numerals and a bright red strap. Tyler told Robb Report the numerals remind him of a Picasso, while the strap makes him think of the places he has stayed in Rome and Paris. “It’s [like] these super-over-the-top gaudy hotels where it’s lamps everywhere and red velvet, and it’s like, ‘Dude, I just need a bed,’” he said.
Maluma: Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar
The Audemars Piguet watch Maluma wore to the Dior menswear show was as captivating as one of the French fashion house’s designs. Labeled “a feat of technical mastery” by the Swiss watchmaker, the Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Openworked features a 41 mm black ceramic case and an openworked sapphire dial that glimpses the pink-gold components of the self-winding movement. With 374 parts and 38 jewels, the Caliber 5135 beats at a frequency of 2.75 Hz and offers a 40-hour power reserve. The perpetual calendar has the essential leap year indication that the watchmaker introduced back in 1955, as well as day, date, week, month, and moon displays. Released in 2019, the watch originally retailed for $130,000.

The two-tone GMT Master II (Ref. 16753) is one of the five-digit, neo-vintage references, which happen to be selling for excellent prices on the secondary market right now. The Fifty Shades of Gray star ditched the five-link steel and gold Jubilee bracelet, which for many is the reason to buy the two-tone watch, in favor of a yellow strap. Johannes Huebl: Gerald Charles Maestro 3.0 Chronograph
The Gerald Charles watch model Johannes Huebl wore to the Giambattista Valli show on Monday will surely strike a chord with collectors. Released in 2023, the Maestro 3.0 Chronograph was made by Gérald Charles Genta’s family-owned brand and was inspired by the legendary horologist’s original drawings. The name pays homage to Genta, too, as he was often referred to simply as “Maestro.” The piece features an 18-karat rose-gold case and a brown sunburst dial with a contrasting white minute track. The face is adorned with distinctive batons and dots, as well as counters at three, six, and nine o’clock. The chronograph will cost you about $44,000 a pop.
Tommy Paul: De Bethune DB28 LTC

John Wall: Patek Philippe Aquanaut Travel Time
NBA star John Wall busted out a slamdunk Patek Philippe Aquanaut for an event in N.Y.C. this week. Released in 2021, the Travel Time was the first Aquanaut to house a complication. The timepiece features a dual time zone mechanism that shows your “local” or “home” time. Two buttons on the left flank of the case move the local hour hand forward or backward in one-hour increments. Wall’s example (Ref. 5164A001) features a 40.8 mm stainless steel case, a black embossed dial with a date-subdial at six o’clock, and a black tropical strap. You can expect to pay in the high five figures for a pre-owned example.
