An 82-year-old man who went missing from a special care home in Saint John on Tuesday has been found safe and sound, say police.

The Saint John Police Force received a tip Wednesday morning that an individual matching the description of the missing man was spotted on Rothesay Avenue, near the post office, said Sgt. Jay Henderson of the major crime unit.

Members of the patrol division located the man, and he was transported to the Saint John Regional Hospital for a medical assessment, he said.
