86-year-old driver going wrong way among 2 killed in head-on crash, Tennessee cops say
Two men died in a head-on car crash in Nashville, according to Tennessee cops.
It happened late on Thursday, Sept. 22 when James Mosley, 86, was driving the wrong way on Briley Parkway in his Dodge Dakota truck, Metropolitan Nashville Police Department said in a news release.
While Mosley traveled southbound in a northbound lane, Torrye Watson-Pamplin Jr., 24, was in the left lane, traveling northbound in his Jeep Compass.
As Watson-Pamplin came around a slight curve, his Jeep collided with Mosley’s truck, police said. The crash happened at County Hospital Road.
Both drivers died at the scene of the crash.
Officials say both men were wearing seatbelts and neither driver showed signs of impairment.
The incident brings the number of deaths in car crashes in the city this year to 106, including 31 pedestrians . There have been 99 fatal wrecks in Nashville this year, up 12.5% when compared to last year.
