Unfortunately, that didn’t stop the Magic from upsetting the Lakers in Staples Center by a score of 119-118, and it didn’t stop James from slightly embarrassing himself at a key moment in the fourth quarter.
We wouldn’t dare say “washed” like James so clearly wants us to, but yeah.
Magic forward Aaron Gordon would later provide a better example on how to slam the ball home, taking flight and absorbing a stupid two-handed push from Lakers center JaVale McGee on his way to three key points.
That dunk helped the Magic become the first under-.500 team to top the 33-8 Lakers this season. They also snapped a nine-game win streak for the Lakers, who looked on their way to another thrilling victory after erasing a 21-point third-quarter deficit.
The Magic held off the Lakers in the final minutes thanks to a pair of gorgeous scores from reclamation project Markelle Fultz, who finished with his second career triple-double at 21 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists.
First, there was this cooking of McGee down low.

Then, Fultz opted to take James for a ride around the paint.

Fultz is now averaging 11.7 points, 4.6 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game, which the Magic will definitely take given where the former No. 1 overall pick was when they acquired him.
