Michael MacPherson, accused in death of Tanner Sinclair, gets bail

Michael MacPherson to stand trial for murder in death of Tanner Sinclair

Accused killer Michael MacPherson has been granted bail and will stay with his parents in Victoria while he awaits trial.

The 33-year-old Whitehorse man is charged with second-degree murder in the stabbing death of Tanner Sinclair last summer.

MacPherson has been in custody since he turned himself in to police in B.C. about 10 days after the stabbing.

This week a Yukon Supreme Court judge ordered MacPherson released into the custody of his parents.

Bail conditions call for a $25,000 cash bond.

MacPherson is to be flown south today. He's scheduled to be placed in a drug treatment program by Sunday.

His bail will be reviewed within 90 days. A trial date has not been set.
