Benner Pike reopens after daylong closure due to downed utility wires after crash
A section of Benner Pike was reopened during rush hour Friday after it was closed much of the day.
Benner Pike was back open before 5 p.m., after a state Department of Transportation spokesperson wrote in an email that it would open by 4:30 p.m. The road was closed about 6:30 a.m. between Shiloh Road and Interstate 99 because of a commercial vehicle crash with downed utility wires.
Travelers who needed access to VCA Metzger Animal Hospital or Tractor Supply were able to do so if needed.
The State College Police Department was not able to immediately share details about the crash.
