Adults, teen hurt in 3-car pileup on Interstate 182 at Broadmoor Boulevard in Pasco

A fatal hit-and-run in Opa-locka left a man dead on Friday. Police died on the street and the driver left the scene.

Three people were injured in a three-car crash on Interstate 182 in Pasco.

The cars were all headed west about 5 p.m. Friday, when two of them slowed for traffic at the Broadmoor Boulevard exit.

The other car, a Nissan Frontier driven by David Alcantara, 51, of Yakima, hit one of the cars that had slowed, a Toyota Prius driven by Dmytro Drobotiuk, 35, of Pasco, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The Prius then hit a Ram pickup driven by Mayra Mendoza, 35, of Pasco, according to the WSP.

She was not injured, but her passenger, Cristian Mendoza, 15, of Pasco, was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland.

Alcantara and Drobotiuk also were taken to Kadlec.

All were wearing seat belts, according to WSP. All three cars were totaled.

Alcantara may be charged with second-degree negligent driving, according to WSP. It said the cause of the crash was speeding.
