Aerial footage shows Pacific Palisades in ruins after Los Angeles wildfires

Aerial footage captured the charred remnants of a Southern California community, showing the devastating effects of "ranging infernos" on the region.

Pacific Palisades, a neighborhood west of downtown Los Angeles that stands at a higher elevation, was one of many neighborhoods impacted by deadly fires that have ravaged Los Angeles County in the last week.

The Palisades Fire, which severely impacted the coastal community, had burned 22,000 acres with 11% containment, according to Cal Fire. as of Saturday.

"It is safe to say the Palisades Fire is one of the most destructive natural disasters in the history of Los Angeles," said Kristin Crowley, fire chief for the Los Angeles Fire Department.

At least 11 people had been killed in the fires, which had scorched roughly 38,000 acres of land in total, as of Saturday.
