Alex Jones had a momentary slip that came back to haunt her during a chat with Hollywood star Seth Rogen on The One Show.

On Friday (August 7), Seth joined Alex and guest co-presenter Gethin Jones live from Los Angeles to chat all about his new comedy An American Pickle, which has been received positively from Digital Spy and others.

The overall interview was fairly mundane, with Seth explaining how he technically shot the movie twice since he plays two roles — and he also joked that children should only recognise him as a voice from The Lion King unless they have bad parents.

As she went to wrap up the chat, Alex thanked Josh for taking time out to appear on The One Show. Wait — Josh?!

"Josh," she called out to a puzzled Seth. "Who the heck is Josh? Sorry, I got quite confused."

Seth just shrugged off the host's mistake, but it would hilariously come back to haunt her later in the episode when joined via video by Paddy McGuinness.

The Top Gear host was looking for a little clarification on whether his beloved Bolton is technically in Lancashire or Greater Manchester (officially it's the latter), when he reckoned he was probably asking the wrong person.

"I realise I'm asking you, Alex, and you just called Seth, 'Josh'," he quipped.

Alex cringed in embarrassment, before joking: "Typical that you'd hear that bit."

We're sure Josh didn't mind the mix-up! Seth — we mean, Seth!

Alex has had some other funny gaffes on air recently, including showing viewers a fake tan disaster and being called out for her wardrobe on air by viewers! Jeez guys, leave her alone…

The One Show airs Mondays through Fridays at 7pm on BBC One.
