MORRISBURG – An already shortened season has been cut shorter by the COVID-19 pandemic. Upper Canada Village’s Alight at Night Festival will close out the season on December 23rd.

The final week of the event is being cancelled because of the lockdown.

St. Lawrence Parks Commission spokesperson Rosalyn Gambhir said, “We know our winter event is part of so many families’ holiday traditions and hope to see guests in 2021.”

Gambhir said that any guests who purchased tickets for the event between December 26th and January 2nd, 2021, will receive an automatic full refund.

When asked if access will be restricted again to the Upper Canada Migratory Bird Sanctuary, Gambhir said the SLPC is evaluating the situation. Provincial guidelines show that outdoor recreation amenities are allowed to remain open.
