Alita 2 campaign is still a thing with new billboards in Los Angeles

From Digital Spy

Alita: Battle Angel released last year to decent reviews and box-office takings, but has since gone on to become a much-loved cult favourite.

The film's passionate fanbase are very vocal about their desire for a sequel, and have actually managed to get a series of billboards up in downtown Los Angeles to raise awareness of the campaign (pictures further below).

Two of the billboards feature the film's stars, Rosa Salazar and Christoph Waltz, alongside quotes about them wanting to do more movies in the franchise.

Another features 'real-life cyborg' Tilly Lockey, who lost her arms as a baby and has been famous for speaking out about life with her bionic ones, stating that Alita was "such a powerful" film and that she was "living the dream".

The fan campaign previously flew a banner asking for a sequel over the Oscars red carpet, while the film's producer Jon Landau has encouraged them to keep their efforts up.

"What I think the Alita Army should do is keep peppering our family now at Disney and [let them know] how important it is to have another Alita movie and hopefully we'll venture there one day," he said.

He also said that James Cameron has specific ideas for two more movies set in that world, although we don't know how hands-on he would be considering he has quite a few Avatar sequels to make.

If you haven't seen Alita: Battle Angel and want to know what all the fuss is about, you can actually stream it for free in the UK at the moment.
