Alleged kidnapper granted bail

One of two men arrested for kidnapping and assault in Fort St. John earlier this year has been granted bail.

Bradin Querin, 20, appeared in provincial court Wednesday, and was released to the Integrity Recovery Society in Prince George for crime and addiction rehabilitation.

Details from hearing, including the reasons of Judge Judith Doulis and other preliminary police evidence and information, are under a court-ordered publication ban.

Querin was arrested and charged after police were called to a serious assault at a home in the 8800 block of 101 Avenue on Feb. 23. A male victim was located and provided medical attention, RCMP said at the time.

Querin faces a lengthy list of charges including kidnapping, forcible confinement, assault with a weapon, sexual assault, and uttering threats. He is due back in court later this month to choose his mode of trial.

Also arrested was Matthew McCharles-Carter, 21. He remains in custody.
