Amanda Holden accuses government of not acting fast enough on COVID travel rules
Amanda Holden has accused the government of a “lack of common sense” as she questioned why the decision to test people coming into the country for COVID wasn’t made sooner.
The Britain’s Got Talent judge posted a long message on Instagram after hearing that people entering England will soon have to test negative for the coronavirus first.
Sharing a throwback image of herself in a bikini on the beach, the star wrote: “I cancelled my holiday on #BoxingDay... it was hard. But I was flying with a negative test and everything was in place for a safe holiday with my family.

“WHY THEN, ARE THE UK ONLY JUST making the decision to test for Covid for people coming into our country??”
“We’ve all sacrificed so much in different ways... most of us have been responsible,” she said.
“Had so much good will and respect for each other.
“Joined together and marched on through this... it’s made me see this morning hearing it on the news - the senseless year of neglect of Government rules at our borders... other countries have done it before us.”
“Why has it taken us so long?” continued the 49-year-old TV star.
“No one seems to have an answer... or be questioning it?!!
“Surely this could have prevented the increase of the spread?!!”
Holden told her followers: “#Staysafe and try and keep patient and calm despite the lack of common sense being afforded to us.”
It has been announced that all passengers coming from abroad will soon have to test negative for the virus before they can come to England.

The test will need to be taken up to 72 hours before they leave the country they are in.
Passengers will be subject to an immediate fine of £500 if they fail to comply.
