Like many people in 2021, I spent a majority of my at home. However, unlike many people, I revelled in the chance to embrace my inner house cat and avoid public spaces. While my husband works outside of the home, I spent last year solidifying my status as the neighbourhood Boo Radley, only catching a glimpse of sunlight when I stepped onto my porch to retrieve my online orders— and I ordered a lot of things online.
In 2021, I made 129 purchases from Amazon Canada alone. At first glance, the number both impressed and disgusted me, but I quickly gave myself some grace. It wasn't just that I'm lazy (although I am) but most of my purchases were made because I was too anxious to leave my safe little COVID bubble and rejoin the world.
Need shampoo or toothpaste? Order it online. Need some new lounge clothes? Order them online. Books? You know the drill.
