Amber Alert cancelled after 5-year-old Quebec boy found safe in Ontario

Quebec provincial police have ended an Amber Alert that was issued Tuesday morning as a five-year-old boy who was reported missing has been found safe.

Police say the boy was found in the York Region in southern Ontario after being taken from the municipality of Brossard on Montreal's South Shore Monday night.

The alert was issued just before 4 a.m. ET on Tuesday, expanding to Ontario a few hours later.

The Sûreté du Québec had said its main suspect was a 65-year-old woman who is known to the family.
