Amherstburg police are investigating a fatal collision at the corner of Simcoe Street and Meloche Road.
The crash occurred just before 8 a.m. Tuesday and has been described by police as a "serious accident" between a car and a van.
"There is one deceased and the other driver has non-life threatening injuries and is going to be transported to hospital," said Const. Shawn McCurdy, who added the occupant one of the vehicles was partially ejected after the collision.
One vehicle was headed north while the other was moving west when the crash happened, according to McCurdy.
Simcoe Street was closed between Richmond Street and the Fourth Concession. Meloche Road was closed from Alma Street to Lowes Side Road.
No information about the person who died in the crash will be released until family members are notified.
