Anglers parking on the Stanley Bridge could land a ticket

RCMP are warning anglers they will be fined if they continue to obstruct traffic on and around P.E.I.'s Stanley Bridge.

Police have received complaints about anglers parking on or near the bridge, which spans the Stanley River.

"People trying to go around a car could cause a collision, could cause an obstruction...." said Sgt. Leanne Butler. "So it is unsafe and we're just asking the public to be aware."

Butler said drivers should leave enough room so a pedestrian can walk by the vehicle on the shoulder, not on the road.

Fines start at $100 and climb to $500 with repeat offences, she said.
