Anne Hathaway is headed "back to Genovia!"

The Oscar winner, 41, reacted to the news that The Princess Diaries 3 is officially happening in a new Instagram video on Friday, Oct. 4. The Devil Wears Prada star’s reaction came hours after director Adele Lim confirmed to Variety that a third installment of the film series was underway.

Hathaway posted a video of herself lounging outside and holding up one finger while saying, “One.” It was then followed by a clip of her from the first film saying, “Shut up,” in response to the news that her character Mia Thermopolis is the Princess of Genovia.

She then cut a second clip of her telling the camera, “Two,” holding up two fingers. This time, she was followed by a scene of her on-screen grandmother Julie Andrews saying “Shut up!”

The video concludes with Hathaway holding up three fingers and saying, “Three,” before adding, “Shut up.” Then, the clip plays Myra’s “Miracles Happen (When You Believe)” song, which was used in the original film.

“Miracles happen ✨👑 . Back to Genovia with @adeleblim @disney @somewherepictures. The fairy tale continues ❤️‍🔥,” Hathaway captioned the video.

Several people flooded Hathaway’s comment section, including Kelly Clarkson, who wrote “Already seated queen 🍿👑." The American Idol alum's fifth single, "Breakaway," was the first single on the second film's soundtrack.

“THE QUEEN OF GENOVIA HAS CONFIRMED SHE WILL RETURN,” commented one user, adding, "I’m seated. Quite frankly, I’ve never been more seated!!!”

Lim, who directed Joy Ride director and co-wrote Crazy Rich Asians, will direct the upcoming Disney film.

"As a die-hard fan of the original Princess Diaries, I’m beyond excited to be a part of bringing the third iteration of this beloved franchise to life. We look forward to celebrating its core tenants of female power, joy and mentorship with audiences worldwide," Lim said in a statement toVariety.

The Princess Diaries (2001) and its sequel, The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement (2004), were both directed by the late Garry Marshall, who died in 2016.

In March, Andrews, 89, told TODAY.com about potentially reprising her role, "It’s quite a long time now since the two Diaries were done, and I’m not sure, but sometimes it’s best to leave a good thing alone. I don’t like it when people milk and milk and milk the subject, you know, till it’s dead."

"I’d be very happy if we did do another one," the Sound of Music star added.

Hathaway told PEOPLE in January 2023 it was "thrilling" to "see the level of excitement" fans had for the possibility of a third movie.

"It's a process that requires patience, and so everybody should consider themselves a part of the movie business now, because this is how long it actually takes to make things."
