Appropriate authority contacted amid Gen. Vance allegations in 2018, Trudeau says

When asked by Conservative Party Leader Erin O’Toole on Wednesday if the prime minister or his office tasked the national security advisor with investigating allegations of sexual misconduct against Gen. Jonathan Vance in 2018, Justin Trudeau responded the ombudsperson who came forward with the allegations was directed to the Privy Council Office. The prime minister said such serious allegations must be followed up by the appropriate authority, signifying the correct reporting measures were taken regarding the Vance allegations.
