Members of the Provincial Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad in London have arrested a suspect wanted for attempted murder in Windsor.

On Sept. 22, around 10 a.m., police responded to reports of a fight in the area of Marentette Avenue at Brant Street just east of downtown. The suspect, identified as Zephaniah Moses, allegedly fled the scene on foot.

The injured victim had left the scene before police arrived, going to the hospital via cab. Officers met with the victim at the hospital and confirmed he had serious injuries consistent with being stabbed.

Blood was located on the roadway where the attack is believed to have occurred.

Officers searched a residence on Assumption Street believed to be connected to the suspect, but Moses was not found.

Police had reason to believe Moses may have fled to London and so searched for him there. He was arrested Sept. 24 without incident.

Moses will appear in a Windsor court. The case remains under active investigation.
