Arrest made in Elizabeth Canty Homes homicide in Columbus. Suspect charged with murder
A suspect has been arrested in Wednesday’s shooting death of a woman at Elizabeth Canty Homes, the Columbus Police Department announced Thursday.
Police said Dejahn Glenn, 28, has been arrested and charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime in connection with the death of Sekedra McCoy.
CPD said officers were dispatched at 8:34 p.m. Wednesday to the public housing complex at 200 20th Ave., concerning a shooting. Responding officers discovered McCoy suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, police said.
Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan said McCoy was pronounced dead at 10:45 p.m. at a local hospital.
CPD thanked their Special Operations, Drone Unit and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives for their assistance. CPD also thanked the Real-Time Crime Center for their swift response and surveillance support.
